Springboard's Evidence Base

Through our work in Australia Springboard conducts approximately 25,000 employee health assessments per year - the results of which demonstrate a concerning presence of preventable health risks across the Australian working population.

To further substantiate the presence of preventable health risks and opportunities for improved health outcomes, in 2007 Springboard launched a controlled research study titled "Australian Health & Performance Research Study". The study involves over 3,000 working adults across multiple industry sectors. The studies aims were to determine:

  • The extent and severity of health risks prevalent among the Australian working population
  • Whether an employee's health status has a direct and measurable impact on their productivity, absence and job satisfaction
  • Whether integrated corporate health & well-being programs are effective in improving an employee's health status, and consequently enhance their performance and productivity
  • Which types of workplace health programs offer the greatest impact in improving an employee's health status

The results of the baseline assessments revealed compelling information about the poor health status of Australian employees, particularly those at 'high risk'.
